The Secret Government Rule book For Labeling You a Terrorist By Jeremy Scahill and Ryan Devereaux23 Jul 2014, 2:45 PM EDT -The Intercept

https://firstlook.org/theintercept/document/2014/07/23/march-2013-watchlisting-guidance/ One question here, what exactly is a terrorist? Seems like an overly broad and undefined naming of various threats. What is the purpose of the "terrorist" label - I think only to terrorize the population in order to rationalize purchasing weapons etc. from weapons manufacturers and rationalizing the stealth welfare system they call Homeland Security.

And of course to allow the NSA to continue to waste valuable social resources on useless recording of millions of exchanges between citizens which serve no actual purpose since there is no mathematically realistic analysis that can make all that information useful...though it can be used for political and personal persecution of groups and individuals when its convenient for someone that has access to  the information. Just in case after the fact information. Wouldn't it be better if all these NSA geeks did something useful like secure internet communications (if that is remotely possible) or pounding a beat somewhere looking after identified threats and their activities. Instead they waste electricity and impose a tremendous cost on society by their employment.

I am still amazed the day I was boarding the ferry boat on a 9/11 anniversary and some apparent sympathizers of attacking the towers were on the Jersey side admiring their work or their surrogate terrorists and no one was watching them or taking names...
